There has to be a better way!
Grandpa-George remembers it—not so very long ago—good guys, doing the right thing, integrity, trust and quality. It was everywhere, always. How did it become hard to find, rare, or worse, unlikely?
Wanting to join the others that are trying to bring it back, a mission was charted. Do it well, with quality and good design. Make it better—one project, one client, one intern at a time.
Grandpa-George challenges all—client, agency, freelancer, student, and owner alike—do better and design well; it will make us all better.
We would love to say that Grandpa-George can do everything. In reality, we build good stuff that works, to standards. We stand behind all of our products.
By following the link, we will show you the in-house Services we offer for design, interactive and print, what technology Capabilities we have, and what compatibilities we Support.
Do you believe as we do—that there is no substitute for good design and no excuse to do anything but a quality job?
Although all of our desks are currently full, we would still love to hear from you. We love meeting new people from all disciplines of the design process, are always interested in collaborating on projects, and are eager to help with critiques, interviewing skills and lending a helping hand to those willing to learn.
Coding geek extraordinaire, Derrin ensures your site is tricked out, functional and bug-free, built to standards and snazzy. It is not enough that he breathes this stuff, he teaches it too. When you pull back the covers and look at the code you will be impressed—no lie.
Tall, big glasses, nostalgic for beautiful, simpler times—Douglas is the brain behind the beauty. Keep in mind though, form and function are there too. Art direction, usability, brand consistency and standards; he does these too. Intern herder and instructor compliment the mix.
Keeping things on track, in-line and to task, Matthew keeps Grandpa-George rawkin’ while upholding the designation MOM—Mega Office Manager. Content, continuity, testing and quality cross his desk, as well. Act surprised—he runs the business and keeps everyone fed, too.
Good design isn’t lost on Jacob. If he doesn’t have his nose in a book about design, he’s making it. A triple threat, he understands graphic design, front end coding and project management. Wakeboarding, boating, action sports, education and mixology add to the package.
Jeff is Grandpa-George’s amazing and talented Graphic Design Intern. He magically creates logos, business cards, brochures and other print-ready material. With a wife, being an active Army Reservist and attending Ai full-time, Jeff is a busy man. We don’t know how he does it.
Some call him Mister Fix It. Others, Big John. Experienced in everything Mac, John brings hardware and front end design experience to Grandpa-George as an Intern from The Arts Institute International Minnesota. He is a Freemason, an avid hunter and he loves to visit the cabin.
Joining us from Ai where he is a full-time WDIM student, Alex is learning the disciplines of front-end coding. He is a coffee house aficionado, has three dogs (one named Georgie—coincidence?), and resides in N. STP. Alex is all about Windows; we are weaning him to Mac.
Keeping watch from the kitchenette table in the studio’s Northeast corner, Gnome keeps an eye on all the Grandpa-George happenings. He keeps Lester and all the interns in line, the rain at bay, and alerts us of impending floods. Gnome loves peanut butter crackers and PBR tallboys.
